Bodywork Description
Craniosacral work deals with the fluctuation system of the cerebrospinal fluid, which is located in the innermost core of our body. Enveloped by a membrane system, it gently and rhythmically cradles the surrounding organs and bones. This rhythm is superior to the body's other rhythms, such as breathing or heartbeat. It links spirit and matter and is immensely important for our well-being and health. (translated and shortened from Ramraj Ulrich Löwe, Craniosacrale Heilkunst)
Craniosacral Biodynamics is a somatic therapeutic practice that connects with the body's deep tissues and cellular memory of the body. At the base of the practice is a specific attentiveness within the relational field and sensitive hands that connect with the subtle and fluid body through non-invasive touch, supporting the self-regulation of the body system and rebalancing physical and emotional well-being.
*I approach the body as a poetic and responsive landscape of stories that articulate in movements, rhythms, images, words, silence, and perceptions. Through listening, the hands invite the body to express and re-balance and attend to the requirements of the current process to unfold. I completed my craniosacral biodynamics training with my teachers Lu Marivoet and Martine Hoerée 2019 in Brussels. My studies have been accompanied and enriched by diverse training and self-explorations in dream work and dance and their somatic techniques of perception and awareness.*
Bio/ Artistic Background
AGNES SCHNEIDEWIND works with dance, text, and visual media based on dream and somatic practices as well as craniosacral therapy. She investigates drawing and writing as performative instruments, (re) searches (collective) work processes, bodies, and the unconscious as poetic (and responsive) landscapes. She co-creates experimental formats and performances; the site-specific piece “I want to be delicious for the bear”(2024) has been developed in the Arctic Spitsbergen; "through which they have wandered" (2022) and "eleven. each print in the mud fills with honey" were co-produced by brut Wien. In 2017, she completed the artistic research post-master's programme a.pass (advanced performance and scenography studies) in Brussels. Agnes lives and works in Vienna and internationally, currently with a focus on bodily experiences of darkness, poetic articulations of invisible processes, and the potential of the image-generating body for connection and resonance.
